HIV/AIDS Glossary

Started in 1993, the Women's Interagency HIV Study (WIHS) is an ongoing federally funded study to investigate the impact of HIV in women. Participants in WIHS studies include women with and without HIV. Analysis of biological specimens and medical and behavioral data collected on WIHS participants has contributed to the understanding of HIV, AIDS, and the effects of antiretroviral therapy (ART) in women.
