HIV/AIDS Glossary

Started in 1984, the study collects biological specimens and medical and behavioral data on men who have sex with men (MSM) to study the natural and treated history of HIV. The Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study (MACS) has significantly contributed to the understanding of HIV, AIDS, and the effects of antiretroviral therapy (ART).
