HIV/AIDS Glossary

The virus that causes human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, the most common sexually transmitted infection. There are many kinds of HPV, including some that can cause genital warts and cancer. HPV is the most frequent cause of cervical cancer. In people with HIV, invasive cervical cancer is an AIDS-defining condition.
