HIV/AIDS Glossary

A hormone that is produced by the pituitary gland and stimulates the growth of bones, muscles, and other organs. A synthetic version of human growth hormone (hGH) is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of AIDS-related wasting syndrome.
