HIV/AIDS Glossary

A type of cancer that develops in the cervix (the lower, narrow end of the uterus). Cervical cancer is almost always caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), which is spread through sexual contact. In people with HIV, invasive cervical cancer is an AIDS-defining condition.
