The HHS Panel on Antiretroviral Guidelines for Adults and Adolescents With HIV is Accepting Applications for Scientific/Clinical Members
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Panel on Antiretroviral Guidelines for Adults and Adolescents (the Panel) is accepting applications for new scientific/clinical members with expertise in HIV clinical research and clinical care of people with HIV in the United States.
The Panel is seeking candidates with expertise in the following areas –
Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) and/or HIV Clinical Care
Viral Hepatitis in People With HIV
Neurological Complications in People With HIV
Panel members critically evaluate new information and prepare guideline revisions. Candidates should be recognized experts in their areas of interest. Successful candidates will serve a four-year term beginning April 2027, with potential for reappointment for an additional term.
The Panel is a Working Group of the Office of AIDS Research Advisory Council of the National Institutes of Health, composed of over 40 members who are clinicians, researchers, academicians, HHS representatives, and community representatives with expertise in HIV management in the United States. The Panel meets monthly (with subgroups meeting more frequently as needed) via videoconferencing to review and critically evaluate emerging scientific data relating to ART and to revise the Guidelines for the Use of Antiretroviral Agents in Adults and Adolescents With HIV.
Panel members are not financially compensated for their time commitment. Panel members are required to report any relationship with companies involved with antiretroviral agents or diagnostic tests relevant to ART and may not take part in pharmaceutical companies’ speakers bureaus while participating on the Panel.
Self-nominations are welcome. The Panel encourages applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds (e.g., practice settings, geographical areas within the United States). The application should include a curriculum vitae and a letter of interest. The letter should address how the applicant would contribute to the Panel’s work, specifically in the areas noted above, as well as broadly in other sections of the guidelines.
All supporting documents must be submitted to the Executive Secretary, Safia Kuriakose, Pharm.D. ([email protected]), and the Program Manager, Marylu Schaffhauser ([email protected]), electronically by January 11, 2027 (firm).
