Analytical Treatment Interruption (ATI)

Audio

An approach used in certain HIV clinical trials to test the effects of an investigational therapy or strategy after HIV medicines are stopped. Analytical treatment interruptions are usually used in HIV cure-related trials to determine whether an investigational HIV drug(s) or strategy can delay or prevent viral rebound after study participants stop antiretroviral therapy (ART). While undergoing an analytical treatment interruption, study participants stay under close clinical monitoring.
