Updates to the Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Opportunistic Infections in Adults and Adolescents with HIV
The Panel on Opportunistic Infections in Adults and Adolescents (the Panel) updated the Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Opportunistic Infections in Adults and Adolescents with HIV. Highlights from the updated sections are summarized below:
- Added criteria to identify patients who are eligible for a simplified hepatitis C virus (HCV) treatment approach.
- Provided treatment regimens with an updated recommendation for the use of simplified, pan-genotypic regimens.
- Added a table of drug interactions between common antiretroviral and recommended HCV treatment regimens.
