Today is National Asian and Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, a day to raise awareness about the impact of HIV and AIDS-related stigma in Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities.

Each year on May 19, National Asian and Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day provides an opportunity to address barriers to HIV testing and access to services for API Americans. Stigma related to HIV infection in API communities has created challenges regarding transmission, testing, and treatment. Culturally tailored measures could meet the needs of API communities for HIV prevention, treatment, and care.
