An HIV prevention method for people who do not have HIV but have a high likelihood of getting the virus. Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) involves using a specific HIV medicine on a regular dosing schedule. PrEP is even more effective when it is combined with condoms and other prevention tools.
