Medicine(s) that neutralize stomach acid to treat occasional heartburn and indigestion. Many antacids are available over-the-counter and contain magnesium, calcium, aluminum, or sodium bicarbonate as active ingredients. Antacids frequently interact with other medicines, including certain HIV medicines, and generally should not be taken at the same time as other medicines.
